This bill establishes the Construction Insurance Notification Act (CINA), which requires insurance companies to implement a new notification process for construction-related insurance policies. If the applicant answers affirmatively, they must provide the contact information for the relevant governmental agency. The insurer is then legally obligated to notify that agency within ten days if the insurance policy is canceled or lapses during its term. As a significant enforcement mechanism, if the insurer fails to provide timely notification to the governmental agency, the canceled or lapsed policy will automatically remain in full force and effect for its original contract period.
