AI Summary

This bill requires all institutions of higher education in New Jersey to designate at least one employee as a student parent liaison, whose primary responsibilities include helping student parents access resources and support services that contribute to their academic success. The liaison must provide information about academic support services, academic success strategies, and other institution-specific resources designed to meet the unique needs of student parents. Additionally, this person will serve as the primary point of contact for student parents seeking accommodations or parental leave, and their contact information must be prominently displayed on the institution's website. The bill will take effect on the first day of the fourth month following its enactment, giving higher education institutions time to implement the new requirement. By mandating this role, the legislation aims to support student parents in navigating their educational journey and reducing barriers to their academic progress.
