This bill authorizes the town of Amherst in Erie County, New York, to discontinue a specific 0.892-acre parcel of parkland and lease it to Verizon Wireless for up to 30 years to place and operate a wireless communications tower. The lease is contingent on the town dedicating all lease proceeds towards acquiring new parklands or making capital improvements to existing park and recreational facilities. If the leased land ceases to be used for its intended wireless communications purpose, the lease will terminate, and the land will revert to the town for public park use, with the requirement that Verizon remove the tower and restore the property to its previous state.
