AI Summary

This bill amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to allow the Secretary of State to issue special Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal license plates to Illinois residents who served in the United States Armed Forces after July 1, 1958, and participated in U.S. military operations, United Nations support operations, or assistance missions for friendly foreign nations. The special plates can only be affixed to certain passenger vehicles, motorcycles, and motor vehicles weighing up to 8,000 pounds. The Secretary of State has full discretion over the design, color, and format of the plates, and can issue them as vanity or personalized plates. These plates are not required to include the "Land of Lincoln" designation and will expire according to the state's existing staggered multi-year registration procedure.
