This bill amends Tennessee law concerning child custody decisions by requiring courts to consider the extent to which any proposed or ordered parenting schedule offers each parent a meaningful opportunity to be involved in the child's life, always prioritizing the child's best interest, in addition to other relevant factors. This change is made to Section 36-6-106(a) of the Tennessee Code Annotated (TCA), which outlines the factors courts must consider when making custody determinations. The bill also makes conforming changes to other sections of the TCA to reflect the addition of this new consideration.
