This bill establishes a $4,000,000 disability inclusion pilot project administered by Lifeworks Services, Inc., funded through a general fund appropriation in fiscal year 2025. The pilot project aims to advance employment and community inclusion for people with disabilities across Minnesota through several key activities: encouraging employers to hire people with disabilities, providing businesses with education about inclusive employment and affordable workplace accommodations, helping people with disabilities and their families navigate services and community engagement, supporting culturally specific services from rural and minority entrepreneurs, piloting community-requested support services, investing in community spaces for trainings and support, and developing a statewide disability inclusion assessment tool for businesses and community spaces. The project is designed to reach all six of Minnesota's planning areas, ensuring equal access to the pilot's activities in both rural and Tribal regions, and is designated as a one-time appropriation.
