This resolution acknowledges and commends Pamela J. Brown for her outstanding leadership on the Rockdale County Board of Education, highlighting her significant contributions to public education. Brown, who began her first term in January 2017 and has served as Chairwoman since January 2023, has led the seven-member board to maintain its Exemplary Board status and earn the Leading Edge Award from the Georgia School Boards Association. During her tenure, Rockdale County Public Schools achieved notable improvements, including a high four-year graduation rate of 88.75%, increased Advanced Placement (AP) course offerings and achievements, consistent gains on state assessments, and expanded career pathway programs. Additionally, Brown serves as the Georgia School Boards Association District 4 Director, works as a Transmission Analyst for Southern Company with over 37 years of service, and is a longtime Rockdale County resident with three children who attend or have graduated from the school system. The resolution formally recognizes her dedication to public education and her ongoing commitment to advocating for students, families, faculty, and staff, and directs the Senate Secretary to provide her with an official copy of the resolution.
