Similarly, state agencies are required to make similar efforts to avoid scheduling meetings or events on such holidays, while local agencies are encouraged to do so, with the goal of ensuring broader public participation. The bill also allows individuals harmed by violations of these provisions to seek injunctive relief, meaning a court order to stop the violation, if they can prove bad faith or willful misconduct.
