This bill amends Arkansas state law by removing the exclusion of assisted living facility services from the Medicaid provider-led organized care system. Currently, the Medicaid provider-led organized care system (a managed care approach to providing Medicaid services) does not include certain types of services, including assisted living facility services. By striking the language that previously excluded assisted living facility services, the bill would now allow these services to potentially be integrated into the Medicaid provider-led organized care system. The bill also renumbers the subsequent items in the list of excluded services, changing the numbering from (6) and (7) to (5) and (6) respectively. This change could potentially improve access and coordination of care for Medicaid beneficiaries who require assisted living services by allowing these services to be more comprehensively managed within the existing Medicaid organized care framework.
