AI Summary
This bill amends the School Code and the Public Higher Education Act to require school districts and public higher education institutions to prioritize parking accommodations for students with disabilities. Specifically, high schools and public colleges must ensure that students who have a disability license plate, parking decal, or device are able to park in an accessible location near the building's entrance. The bill mandates that these students receive first consideration for parking passes, both before and after initial parking pass assignments are made. This means that if a student with a disability obtains a disability parking permit after the initial parking pass distribution, they will still be given priority for accessible parking. The goal of the legislation is to improve parking accessibility and convenience for students with disabilities by requiring educational institutions to proactively accommodate their parking needs.
