This bill makes a minor technical amendment to Tennessee Code Annotated by changing the deadline for the Department of Health's annual reporting of de-identified aggregate claims data on drug poisonings from March 1 to April 1. Specifically, the bill modifies Section 68-1-108(f) to extend the submission date by one month, giving the department additional time to compile and submit a comprehensive report on inpatient and outpatient hospital discharge data related to drug poisonings from the calendar year two years prior to the current year. The report must be submitted to the governor, the speakers of the senate and house of representatives, and relevant legislative health committees. The bill will take effect immediately upon becoming law, as determined by the Tennessee General Assembly to be in the public's interest.
