This bill authorizes Jeffrey Alva Beall, a retired member of the New York State Teachers' Retirement System (NYSTRS), to apply for retroactive military service credit for his active duty in the U.S. Army from April 17, 1984, to February 27, 1987, even though current law might otherwise prevent him from doing so. To receive this credit, Mr. Beall must pay NYSTRS an amount calculated by multiplying the years of his military service by 3% of his salary during his last twelve months of credited service before retirement.
