This bill creates a new special license plate for the Seattle Reign FC soccer team, adding it to the existing list of specialty license plates in Washington State. The bill establishes that the Seattle Reign FC license plate will have an initial fee of $40 and a renewal fee of $30, consistent with many other specialty plates. These funds will be directed to the RAVE foundation to support their mission of championing and empowering girls, women, and gender diverse people, protecting the Salish Sea, and advancing equity in play and life. The legislation updates several existing state laws (RCW 46.17.220, 46.18.200, and 46.68.420) to incorporate this new license plate option, and adds a new definitional section to chapter 46.04 RCW specifically describing the Seattle Reign FC license plates. The new license plate will become available starting October 1, 2025, and will feature the Seattle Reign FC logo, allowing vehicle owners to show support for the soccer team while also contributing to the RAVE foundation's equity-focused initiatives.
