Requires a school district or nonpublic school to obtain a written statement signed by a student's parent or guardian or the student verifying the student's age, biological sex, and that the student has not taken performance enhancing drugs; provides for a penalty for false or misleading statements. AI Summary

This bill amends the Interscholastic Athletic Organization Act to establish strict guidelines for participation in school sports based on biological sex. Specifically, the bill requires that any athletic team or sport designated as "female" can only include participants who are female according to their biological sex at birth, which is determined by genetics. Schools must obtain a written statement from each student or their parent/guardian once per school year that verifies the student's age and biological sex before allowing them to participate in an athletic team or sport. The bill appears to be designed to prevent transgender athletes from participating in female sports teams by mandating that participation is based strictly on biological sex as determined at or before birth. By establishing these provisions, the bill aims to create a clear and uniform standard for athletic team composition across schools in the state, with the potential effect of excluding transgender athletes from competing in sports teams that align with their gender identity.
