AI Summary

This bill amends the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act to require owners, licensees, or operators of generative artificial intelligence (AI) systems to prominently display a warning on their user interface that clearly informs users that the AI system's outputs may be inaccurate or inappropriate. The bill defines artificial intelligence as a machine-based system that can infer how to generate outputs like predictions, content, recommendations, or decisions based on input, with generative AI specifically referring to automated computing systems that can produce human-like content when given prompts - such as textual outputs like essays or poetry, and image outputs like artwork or photographs. Any violation of this warning requirement would be considered an unlawful practice under the Act, potentially subject to legal penalties. The purpose of the bill appears to be protecting consumers by ensuring they are aware of the potential limitations and risks associated with AI-generated content.
