This bill amends the Illinois Municipal Code to modify regulations regarding part-time police officers. Part-time police officers will continue to be members of the regular police department (except for pension purposes) and must receive training under the Intergovernmental Law Enforcement Officer's In-Service Training Act. The change aims to provide smaller municipalities with more flexibility in managing their police force staffing and supervision, while maintaining overall professional standards for law enforcement personnel.
