AI Summary

This bill consolidates and dissolves multiple state law enforcement-related funds by transferring their remaining balances to the State Police Operations Assistance Fund and the State Police Law Enforcement Administration Fund. These funds include the LEADS Maintenance Fund, Money Laundering Asset Recovery Fund, Drug Traffic Prevention Fund, State Police Wireless Service Emergency Fund, Offender Registration Fund, Scott's Law Fund, State Police Whistleblower Reward and Protection Fund, and State Police Firearm Enforcement Fund. The bill makes various technical changes across multiple state laws to redirect fund revenues and update references to the dissolved funds. The changes will streamline state police funding mechanisms, ensuring that moneys from various sources like fines, fees, and assessments are consolidated into two primary funds that can be used for law enforcement purposes such as training, equipment, task forces, and operational expenses. The bill is set to take effect on September 1, 2026, and includes provisions for transferring existing fund balances and dissolving the original funds at that time.
