By November 1, 2025, the state auditor is required to identify all such entities within the public education system, and these will be dissolved by December 31, 2025. The legislature believes that these eliminated offices and programs, while potentially having contributed to the education system in the past, do not sufficiently enhance basic education and academic outcomes. Any functions from these eliminated entities that are essential to providing basic education will be relocated to existing facilities where direct, daily student interaction occurs. The bill specifically clarifies that it does not apply to the constitutionally mandated position of the superintendent of public instruction. The goal is to reduce financial costs, minimize time-consuming mandates, and focus resources more directly on student education.
