This bill amends Arkansas' law regarding mammography services to increase accessibility while maintaining quality standards. Specifically, the legislation modifies requirements for physician involvement in mammography procedures by allowing interpreting physicians to be available via telecommunications rather than being physically present on-site. Under the new provisions, an interpreting physician can remotely assess diagnostic mammography while meeting existing quality standards from the Mammography Quality Standards Act of 1992. Patients will be required to sign a waiver acknowledging potential limitations of remote diagnostic evaluations, and they must receive their diagnostic results before leaving the facility.
