This resolution congratulates the Austin County 4-H Livestock Quiz Bowl team on winning first place at the Western National Roundup, a competitive event testing agricultural knowledge. The team, comprised of four juniors from Bellville High School - Katelyn Krenek, Madilyn McCullough, Darcy Luedke, and Katie Schumann - achieved significant success by first advancing from the District 11 4-H Spring Spectacular and then winning the Texas 4-H Roundup in June 2024. At the national competition in Denver, Colorado, they defeated teams from Idaho, Colorado, Alaska, and Minnesota, ultimately claiming the championship. Notably, team captain Katelyn Krenek was named fourth High Point Individual, while Madilyn McCullough was named Champion High Point Individual with a record-breaking 32 points. The resolution, passed by the 89th Texas Legislature, not only congratulates the team on their achievement but also commends their dedication to learning about livestock-related topics and recognizes the potential these young Texans demonstrate through their academic commitment. As a final gesture, an official copy of the resolution will be prepared for the team as an expression of respect from the Texas House of Representatives.
