This joint resolution authorizes the National Fraternal Order of Police and its auxiliary to host two public events on the Capitol Grounds: the 44th Annual National Peace Officers Memorial Service and the National Honor Guard and Pipe Band Exhibition. The Memorial Service, scheduled for May 15, 2025, will honor law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty during 2024, with event preparation beginning on May 9 and takedown completed by May 16. The Exhibition, planned for May 14, 2025, will allow law enforcement representatives to showcase Honor Guard programs and perform a bagpipe exhibition. Both events must be free of admission, open to the public, and arranged in a manner that does not interfere with Congressional activities. The events' sponsors will be responsible for all associated expenses and liabilities, and must obtain approval from the Architect of the Capitol for event preparations, including stages, sound equipment, and related structures. The Capitol Police Board will ensure that standard restrictions on sales, advertisements, displays, and solicitations are enforced during these events.
