This bill amends the Law Enforcement Camera Grant Act by modifying reporting requirements for law enforcement agencies that receive grants for officer-worn body cameras. Specifically, the bill removes two detailed reporting sections: one related to recordings used in prosecutions of conservation, criminal, traffic offenses, or municipal ordinance violations, and another related to recordings used in civil proceedings or internal affairs investigations. These sections, which previously required specific details such as incident time, date, location, offenses charged, and details about civil proceedings, will now simply be marked as "(blank)". The remaining annual report requirements will continue to include an overview of the agency, number of cameras and officers using them, technical equipment issues, supervisor review processes, and any other relevant program information. Law enforcement agencies receiving these grants will still be required to submit an annual report by May 1st to the Board, Governor, and General Assembly, but with less granular documentation about specific camera recordings and their uses.
