AI Summary

This bill amends the Child Vision and Hearing Test Act by requiring color discrimination tests to be included in all vision screening services. The bill mandates that the Department of Public Health develop and implement rules for these new color vision tests before January 1, 2027. Color vision testing is important because it can help identify color vision deficiencies or color blindness in children, which can impact learning, academic performance, and future career choices. By adding this requirement to existing vision screening protocols, the bill aims to provide more comprehensive vision assessments for children, potentially enabling earlier detection and intervention for color vision-related issues.
