This bill introduces a new system of fees for political candidates and creates an Election Income Tax Rebate Fund to provide tax rebates to Illinois income taxpayers. Starting January 1, 2026, prospective candidates for elected office will be required to pay two fees: a $2,500 pre-filing fee before circulating nomination petitions and a $2,500 filing fee when submitting nomination papers.
