This bill amends Minnesota vehicle registration laws to establish a new compensation mechanism for deputy registrars for no-fee transactions. Specifically, the bill requires the commissioner of public safety to compile quarterly data on transactions completed by deputy registrars that do not incur filing fees, and then distribute payments to these registrars. For no-fee vehicle registration renewals, deputy registrars will receive $9 per transaction, and for other no-fee vehicle transactions, they will receive $13 per transaction.
