This bill establishes the Texas Advanced Nuclear Energy Authority (TANEA), a new state entity designed to promote and develop advanced nuclear energy technologies in Texas. The bill also establishes the Texas Advanced Nuclear Innovation Fund, which can receive gifts, grants, and legislative appropriations to support advanced nuclear research, provide matching funds to state entities, and award grants to businesses developing nuclear energy technologies. The executive committee will be required to submit a biennial report to the governor and Legislative Budget Board detailing the authority's activities, research opportunities, and recommendations. The bill is set to take effect on September 1, 2025.
