This bill eliminates a specific funding provision from the Healthy Homes Fund that was previously allocated for home remediation in the town of Hamden. Specifically, the bill removes language that would have provided funding between May 1, 2022, and April 30, 2023, for grants to assist homeowners in remediating structurally deficient foundations or relocating from affected condominium units in Hamden. The bill maintains existing funding provisions for homeowners near the West River in the Westville section of New Haven and Woodbridge, which allows up to one million dollars in remittances to be used for grants to address homes damaged by subsidence or water infiltration. The changes will take effect on July 1, 2025, and essentially eliminate the additional Hamden-specific funding that was previously authorized, while preserving the existing funding for the West River area homeowners.
