This bill amends the existing state law regarding registration fees for alternative fuel vehicles by establishing a rebate program specifically for hybrid vehicles (those operating on a combination of electricity and petrochemical fuels). Currently, hybrid vehicles pay an annual registration fee of $100, and starting July 1, 2025, the bill will require that this $100 registration fee be fully refunded to the vehicle owner each year.
