This bill repeals the metropolitan region sales and use tax that was previously imposed by the Metropolitan Council in the metropolitan counties of Minnesota. The tax revenue was previously distributed as follows: 25% to the state rent assistance account, 25% to the metropolitan city aid account, and 50% to the metropolitan county aid account in the housing assistance fund.
