This resolution honors Cassandra Cooper Smith for her outstanding athletic achievements at Clay County High School from 2009 to 2012, recognizing her induction into the Clay County Sports Hall of Fame. During her high school career, Smith was a standout athlete in both volleyball and basketball, playing a pivotal role in the Lady Bulldogs' 2012 state basketball championship. She was an impressive performer on the court, scoring 778 points and securing 467 rebounds in basketball, and starting in volleyball for four years while helping her team reach the region tournament annually. Smith received numerous accolades, including a volleyball District Tournament MVP award, 1st Team selections in both sports, All-State and All-Upper Cumberland basketball honors, and a State All-Tournament team selection. Her athletic prowess earned her collegiate sports opportunities, and the resolution celebrates her leadership, skill, and athleticism. The Tennessee General Assembly formally recognizes her accomplishments and extends best wishes for her continued success, while also directing that an official copy of the resolution be prepared for presentation.
