AI Summary

This bill authorizes local school boards to offer hunting safety instruction in grades six through twelve, with the State Board of Education developing content standards and local boards creating curricula based on the Department of Natural Resources' hunter education courses, requiring instructors to be certified by the Department of Natural Resources. It also establishes a pilot program managed by the Department of Education to develop and study outdoor learning spaces on school property, with participating schools agreeing to incorporate these spaces into their curriculum for at least three years, and the Department will evaluate the program's success and report findings to legislative committees. Additionally, the bill removes the requirement for a licensed physician's involvement in automated external defibrillator (AED) programs in schools, and increases the number of accumulated sick leave days teachers and other school personnel can use for personal or professional reasons from three to five per school year, with prior approval from the local superintendent.
