The report must include recommendations for improving grant programs focused on three key objectives: increasing nurse faculty, particularly in underserved areas; creating pathways for experienced nurses (with over 10 years of clinical experience) to transition into teaching roles at nursing schools; and expanding opportunities for licensed practical nurses (LPNs) to advance their careers by becoming registered nurses (RNs). By addressing these goals, the bill aims to help alleviate nursing shortages, particularly in areas with limited access to healthcare education and professional development, and to provide more structured career advancement opportunities within the nursing profession.
