This bill introduces new requirements for members of appraisal district boards of directors in Texas, focusing on training, education, and understanding of board responsibilities. The bill mandates that the comptroller develop a comprehensive four-hour training course covering the duties and responsibilities of board members, which must be completed before each term of service. Candidates for board positions (both appointed and elected) must now sign a detailed acknowledgment form that outlines the 24 specific statutory responsibilities of board members, including tasks like hiring a chief appraiser, adopting budgets, appointing review board members, and conducting regular meetings.
