This resolution commends and congratulates the Lamar High School Lady Raiders Volleyball Team for winning their third consecutive Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) Division II State Championship in 2024. The team defeated Pillow Academy in the championship match by sweeping three sets with scores of 25-16, 25-14, and 25-14, and finished the season with an impressive 21-9 record. Led by Head Coach Courtney Schimelpfening and Assistant Coach Alex Schimelpfening, the team demonstrated exceptional skill, recording 11 service aces in the championship game and maintaining a consistent level of play. The resolution highlights the team's resilience and sportsmanship, recognizing the 11 team members by name and emphasizing their achievement as an inspiration to student-athletes across Mississippi. The House of Representatives formally recognizes the team's accomplishments and extends best wishes for their future endeavors, with copies of the resolution to be provided to the coach, school administration, and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
