This bill amends Arkansas state law to modify the list of establishments required to display information about the National Human Trafficking Hotline. Specifically, the bill removes the requirement for abortion facilities to post the hotline information and adds nail salons and massage businesses licensed by the Department of Health to the list of required establishments. The poster must be displayed in restrooms and in a conspicuous place near the entrance of the establishment, measuring at least 8.5 by 11 inches. Other establishments already required to post the hotline information include hotels, motels, strip clubs, sexually oriented businesses, private clubs with liquor permits, airports, train stations, bus stations, and privately owned facilities providing food, fuel, showers, sanitary facilities, and overnight parking. The goal of this legislation appears to be expanding awareness of human trafficking resources by ensuring the National Human Trafficking Hotline information is visible in more types of businesses where potential trafficking victims might seek help.
