This bill provides $10,500,000 in state bond funding to the Cloquet Area Fire District to support the construction and equipping of new fire station(s). Specifically, the funding will enable the fire district to acquire a site, demolish existing structures, prepare the site, and then predesign, design, construct, furnish, and equip one or more fire stations as determined by the Cloquet Area Fire District Board. To facilitate this funding, the commissioner of management and budget is authorized to sell and issue state bonds up to $10,500,000, following standard state bonding procedures outlined in Minnesota Statutes and the state constitution. The bill becomes effective immediately after it is enacted, allowing the fire district to proceed quickly with their fire station project.
