This resolution pays tribute to the memory of William Perry Cloud, a prominent Temple, Texas businessman and community leader who passed away on February 1, 2025, at the age of 95. Born in Temple in 1929, Cloud took over his father's housing corporation in 1954 and became president of Cloud Construction Company in 1961, playing a significant role in constructing landmark buildings in Central Texas. Throughout his life, he was actively involved in community organizations, serving on the Temple City Commission, leading the Temple Chamber of Commerce, and participating in various local foundations and associations. A University of Texas at Austin graduate and proud veteran, Cloud was deeply committed to his family, having been married to Betty Jean Lengefeld for 66 years until her death in 2017, and leaving behind three children, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. The resolution formally honors his life's contributions, extends condolences to his family, and requests that an official copy of the resolution be prepared for his family, with the Texas House of Representatives adjourning in his memory.
