This bill allows lessees (renters) of certain real property in a specific type of city to request property tax statements directly from the county auditor. Specifically, the bill enables lessees in a city with a population between 940 and 960 people (as determined by the 2020 federal census), located in a county with a population between 190,000 and 210,000, to file their name and mailing address with the county auditor. By doing so, these lessees can receive both the proposed property tax statement and the final property tax statement, which they would not have been automatically entitled to receive under previous law.
