This bill eliminates the MNsure Legislative Oversight Commission by repealing specific subdivisions of Minnesota Statutes section 62V.11. Currently, the Legislative Oversight Committee is responsible for providing oversight to MNsure (Minnesota's health insurance marketplace), which includes reviewing the organization's operations at least annually, receiving annual reports, and making policy recommendations to the board and legislature. The bill would remove the committee's statutory basis, which means the committee would no longer exist. The repealed subdivisions cover the committee's purpose, membership structure (which previously included five senators and five representatives), meeting requirements, annual budget review responsibilities, and oversight of the Minnesota Eligibility System funding and expenditures. By eliminating these provisions, the bill effectively disbands the legislative oversight body that has been monitoring MNsure since its establishment.
