This bill appropriates $5.3 million from the state transportation bond proceeds account to fund an interchange project at the intersection of Highway 100 and Vernon Avenue/West 50th Street in Edina, Minnesota. The funds will be used for preliminary design, design, engineering, and construction of the interchange. As part of the bill's provisions, any surplus land created in the project area (bordered by Vernon Avenue/West 50th Street, Grange Road, Eden Avenue, and Highway 100) must be dedicated for use by the city of Edina as either a fire station, a municipal campus, or both. The commissioner of management and budget is authorized to sell and issue state bonds up to $5.3 million to provide the funding, following standard state bonding procedures outlined in Minnesota statutes. The bill becomes effective immediately after its final enactment, enabling the city of Edina to proceed with the infrastructure improvement project.
