This bill provides $14,915,000 in state bond proceeds to the city of Wayzata for a comprehensive downtown lakefront restoration project. The funding will support multiple improvements, including acquiring real property, designing and constructing an eco park, restoring and preserving historic sites like the Section Foreman House and Wayzata Depot, restoring the lake edge along Lake Minnetonka, enhancing Wayzata Beach and Klapprich Park, and designing new public safety facilities that will serve the downtown lakefront and community park areas. This appropriation builds upon a previous funding allocation from the 2020 Fifth Special Session. The commissioner of management and budget is authorized to sell and issue state bonds up to $14,915,000 to finance these improvements, following standard state bonding procedures outlined in Minnesota Statutes and the state constitution. The bill becomes effective immediately after its final enactment, enabling the city to proceed with its lakefront development plans.
