This bill appropriates $1.6 million from the state's general fund in fiscal year 2026 to support the construction of a new curling facility in Willmar, Minnesota. The funding will be administered by the commissioner of employment and economic development as a grant to Glacial Ridge Curling, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The grant will cover the predesign, design, construction, furnishing, and equipment of the facility. Before the funds can be released, the commissioner of management and budget must verify that sufficient additional funding has been committed to complete the project, as required by state financial regulations. The appropriation is a one-time allocation and will remain available until the project is either completed or abandoned, in accordance with state financial guidelines.
