This bill makes several changes to the jurisdiction of the 2nd Multicounty Court at Law and the composition of juvenile boards in Bee, Live Oak, and McMullen Counties. Additionally, the bill expands the composition of the juvenile boards in these three counties by adding the judge of the 2nd Multicounty Court at Law as a member, alongside the existing county judge and district judges. The bill will take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote in both legislative chambers, or on September 1, 2025, if it does not receive the necessary immediate effect vote. The changes will only apply to cases filed or proceedings commenced on or after the effective date, with previous cases continuing under the law in effect at the time they were initiated.
