This bill amends Georgia's Fair Business Practices Act to require clear disclosure of AI-generated content used in commerce and trade, starting July 1, 2025. The legislation defines "AI generated content" as any video, audio, or image file created by a machine-based system that emulates human cognitive processes like learning, reasoning, and communicating. For visual media, the AI disclosure must be in writing, using text that is at least 30% of the vertical picture height, visible for 30% of the media's length, and have sufficient color contrast. For audio media, the AI disclosure must be announced using the same volume and speaking rate as the original content. The bill makes it unlawful to omit these disclosures, with each piece of undisclosed AI-generated content constituting a separate violation. This legislation aims to increase transparency by ensuring consumers are aware when content is artificially generated, particularly in commercial contexts.
