This concurrent resolution directs the Legislative Research Commission (LRC) to establish the Kentucky Discipline of Government Efficiency (KY DOGE) Task Force, which will study and examine Executive Branch expenditures to identify opportunities for increasing government operational efficiency and inform the biennial budget preparation process. The task force will consist of 10 members, including four senators appointed by the Senate President (with one designated as co-chair), one senator appointed by the Minority Floor Leader, four House representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House (with one designated as co-chair), and one House representative appointed by the Minority Floor Leader. The task force is required to meet at least monthly during the 2025 Interim of the General Assembly and submit its findings and recommendations to the LRC by December 1, 2025. The resolution acknowledges the General Assembly's constitutional role in budget matters and emphasizes the importance of responsible governance, efficient resource allocation, and accountability to Kentucky citizens. Additionally, the LRC retains the flexibility to assign the task force's work to an interim joint committee or subcommittee if deemed appropriate.
