AI Summary

This bill, known as the "Georgia Human Trafficking Prevention Training Act," mandates that all on-site employees of inns and third-party property managers of short-term rental properties (defined as residential units rented for tourist or transient use, managed by an entity other than the owner) must complete annual human trafficking awareness training. This training, developed or approved by the Attorney General's office in consultation with industry groups and hosting platforms, will cover identifying victims and signs of human trafficking, understanding labor and sex trafficking in the hospitality context, reporting procedures, and providing contact information for hotlines and law enforcement. Owners and managers must implement reporting policies, comply with posting requirements, and retain records of employee training for at least one year after employment ends, with penalties of $500 to $2,000 for violations, though properties managed directly by individual owners or rented for fewer than 15 days per year are exempt.
