Additionally, by February 1, 2026, the board must provide a detailed breakdown of teacher openings and hiring data for specific critical fields including English as a second language, early childhood, special education, career and technical education, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math), and world languages. The bill aims to provide a more comprehensive understanding of teacher shortages and workforce dynamics in Minnesota, with most provisions becoming effective on July 1, 2025.
