This bill appropriates $20,000,000 total ($10,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $10,000,000 in fiscal year 2027) from the general fund to the University of Minnesota's Board of Regents to advance health equity in underserved communities through several specific initiatives. The funding will support the Community-University Health Care Center, Mobile Health Initiative, and One Health Clinic by integrating curriculum focused on underserved communities into health-related academic programs, increasing clinical training placements for health science students in these areas, expanding mobile health services, and piloting a new One Health Clinic. The One Health Clinic is a particularly innovative component, designed to provide interprofessional, multidisciplinary health care that acknowledges the interconnected nature of human, animal, and environmental health.
