This bill appropriates $350,000 in both fiscal years 2026 and 2027 from the arts and cultural heritage fund to the Minnesota Department of Agriculture to provide grants to the Minnesota FFA (Future Farmers of America). The funding is specifically aimed at creating new and expanded opportunities for FFA members to engage in art- and history-related activities. Up to $125,000 annually can be used to document and commemorate the organization's 100-year history through a history book, video storytelling series, and an in-person arts-focused event. Any remaining funds can be used for other art and history-related activities, such as national and state FFA band and choir programs, talent competitions, floriculture activities, and state fair landscape booths. The commissioner of agriculture is required to develop grant-making criteria and guidance for these grants, and must seek input from the Minnesota FFA and Minnesota FFA Foundation during the process.
