This bill authorizes the City of Gallatin's City Council to impose impact fees on new land development within the city's corporate limits. Impact fees are charges levied on developers to help cover the costs of public infrastructure and services necessitated by new construction. Specifically, the bill allows the City Council to charge fees to help pay for capital improvements and related expenses such as street repair and construction, traffic signals, water services, stormwater and drainage facilities, emergency services, and administrative costs associated with these improvements. The bill requires approval by a two-thirds vote of the Gallatin legislative body to take effect, and once approved, will become part of the city's existing municipal code.
